I would be shocked if Ben Wallace retires. He's a me me me guy, and he isn't about to walk away from any of that money. Even if it's evident he
can't play, he'll come back.

I do think it looks a bit like a cry baby to avoid the press afterwards. When the Cavs were winning he loved sitting up there smiling and making jokes, but when they lose he bails? He's the face of the franchise, he needs to speak to the news outlets and fan base during the good and the bad. Either way, dude is still a class act and super competitive, but I think he will learn not to sulk so much in the wake of defeat in the future. As much as I really wanted to see the best 2 players in the league face off, I'm glad I don't have to root for Kobe or the city of Cleveland. Come on Magic. |

i probably wont watch any of the Finals. I made it a point during the playoffs to watch at least 1 quarter of every Cavs game, just to watch LeBron. now that
he's out, not so much.
i wonder how Michael Jordan reacted when he lost those eastern conference finals or was eliminated from the playoffs early in his career. Probably similar to LeBron. |

cleveland does have great hospitals
clinic is #4 overall, but #1 heart, #2 GI, #2 urology (yeah!), #3 ortho, #4 kidney, #5 in pulmonary (will jump to #1 next year) the game was really disappointing, but not a surprise. the lebroffense just won't carry against a team as well rounded as the magic. |

GregG21 wrote: when did ben wallace become a "me me me" guy? When the Bulls were stupid enough to offer him an incredibly inflated contract solely to weaken a division rival? Or when he fought with that prick of a coach skiles to wear his headband? Must've happened post-pistons because as long as I've watched him, Ben's been nothing but a team-first player. He's definitely over the hill and overpaid, but that's what you get when you give bad contracts to "effort" type of players. Props to his agent for that. Are Cleveland fans sitting back, biting their nails off nervously hoping Lebron doesn't lose faith and bolt town? After what I've seen, he owns that entire state... no way he leaves... he really has no reason. My biggest fear is he signs a contract but leaves a bunch of money on the table and the Cav's can assemble a front court better than the garbage they have right now. Next year, even if the magic beat LA, Orlando's going to have a really tough time keeping that team together... they've got way too much money committed to rashard and howard... Hedo's going to be a FA, after the past 2 seasons, he should opt out of his current deal and he's going to get paid by someone else... he's a big piece of what they do, granted they've got depth in courtney lee and pietrus (when healthy) but it's still gonna be a hit. Boston's on the decline, say what you want, but all their stars are old as fuck, they mortgaged the future for a 1 year championship, they'll spend the next couple years like the Heat did except they don't have a Dwade type of guy to build around. Watch Al Jefferson just explode in Minny. Pistons, as much as it pains me, are no better than a first round exit playoff team. But with 'sheed and AI's bloated contracts coming off the books, I'm hoping they make some moves, ship Tayshaun to hornets for a deal with Chandler or maybe D-west if NOH is willing, I'd also like to see Dumars go after Millsap, especially if Chandler gets tossed our way. In a perfect world, that team could do some damage. Anyways, I'm torn on who to root for, Kobe's a cold blooded killer and I'd like to see him get a ring w/o shaq but I think this is Orlando's one shot at a ring for Dwight Howard. My prediction, Lakers in 5... Orlando's hot 3pt shooting cools down. How 'bout them red wings tho? |

he had a quote the other day something to the effect of "i need to figure out if i can play next year. i'm not the type of guy who will hold these
guys hostage just because i have a contract. if i can't contribute, i need to leave"
maybe it's just lip service, but that's anti-selfish to me. |

big kraut wrote: That's exactly my point Jay. I bet it's just lip service. Didya, it was when he came to Chicago. No doubt Chicago overpaid by giving him one of the dumbest contracts ever, but there was a lot of shit that never came out in the national media about him. How he would sulk and not show up to practice on time, how he didn't feel the need to be at shoot around on time before games because he didn't shoot much, etc. Don't get me wrong, he was a hell of a player in Detroit when he was young. A total defensive star. When he got here and got paid he decided there were two sets of rules. One set for everyone else, and a "star" set of rules for him when he was never a star. |

I'm sure most of that can be accredited to skiles' coaching, he had some of the dumbest rules ever... your mustache must be clouding your judgment!

Skiles was certainly hard on his players, but at least he had a plan. He was a very well prepared coach. Unlike Vinny The Black that we have now. He blows and
commands no respect from his players.

Jameer Nelson playing in the finals, good story. I hate the thought of either of these teams winning a championship.

Kobe has got to hate Shaq. Even now after winning the title on his own, Shaq's name is mentioned just as much as Kobe's in the articles i've read.
He even congratulated him on twitter which of course was picked up by the headlines. A couple weeks ago (or longer), and i dont know the exact quote, but Kobe
said people would be crazy to think Shaq would have won those three in a row without Kobe. and Kobe's right. Shaq never won the title on his own, Kobe now
has.
I've actually grown to respect Kobe a lot. Yeah, he's still a ball hog, takes ridiculous shots and shoots a ton just get his points, but he just wants to show up the next guy. |
