yea I caught the second half of their set to get a good spot for Coheed and to be honest I was not looking forward to having to sit through the second half of
Shadows Fall, but man they sounded really tight and extremely high energy and stage presence, amazing lead guitar player. Didn't hear the Phish song, must
have been earlier in the set. The lead singer asked the crowd during the last song to set a "Bonnaroo crowd surfing record"...had to be a hundred
people that went surfing during that song. Coheed was amazing though, Claudio fucking played with his teeth for a good two minutes during the Final Cut. They
opened with In Keeping Secrets, played favor house atlantic, blood red summer, The Crowing, No World For Tomorrow, Welcome home... Ten minute drum solo to
close out The FInal Cut, insane.

I'd say Phish, MGMT, Bruce, and moe. were some of my favorite shows
weather was pretty good. poured thursday night, but friday-sun was perfect. Got screwed with our camping spot. got into line at 11, got taken to the back entrance and had one of the furthest camps possible, a good 30+ walk to centeroo. Thurs - checked out MURS, who was pretty good, and cracked me up with the stories and things he said between songs - Friend of mine passed out right before the Knux went on, so unfortunately spent their set in the medical tent - Thought about seeing Zac Brown, but decided to head back before the rain and just drink at the campsite Fri - stayed at the Itals for about 45 mins. good reggae music to just chill too, but it was too hot to just sit at What Stage - caught the first 30 of Grace Potter, which was great. she's puts on a great live show, and is smokin
- saw all of galactic's set, which was great as usual. both of the guys they had on trumpet were good, but the 30 min trumpet solo/duet was a bit long - Stopped by Santigold for about 30 minutes. looked like her show was a lot of fun, the tent was packed, and I heard her say a couple times that it was the best crowd she's ever seen - beastie boys wasted some good opportunities IMO. plenty of other rap/hip hop artists at the farm they could of brought out, but instead they bring out Nas unannounced, and only play some collab they did with him off their new album. Messing up sabotage twice was dissappointing, but overall a pretty good show, they had a lot of energy - First time seeing Phish was absolutely amazing. not a better place to see them then @ roo. I personally think they played a perfectly unique set for roo, it made the die hard phans happy, and was kept people that didn't know their stuff entertained throughout the show. You could tell that Trey was fucking loving every minute of it. YEM> wilson > YEM?!?!!! I was completely blown away, and I'm still not able to put into words what I saw/felt/heard/experienced. - Still in a state of shock, tried checking out 15 minutes of girl talk, oakenfold, and pretty lights, but was unimpressed by all of them. Sat - started the day off with Alejandro Escovedo. first time i saw his was just a solo acoustic show, so it was great to see him backed by a full band. played a very enjoyable, laid back show that included some of his slower songs, but was a great show - saw govt mule next, and knew to expect a great show based on their epic latenight show in 07. sound (as usual) was shit at which stage, and kinda took away from the show. played some great covers, including Creep. - Caught the last 1/2 of Wilco's set, which as always was enjoyable - Chilled in the back during Bruce. I'm not that big of a fan, but I really enjoyed his set. I heard a lot of people complain that he just 'ran through his hits' for half the show, but I honestly couldn't name more than 8 or 9 of his songs - finished the night with a moe.> MGMT> moe. sandwich. MGMT was my 2nd favorite show of the weekend, next to Phish. the tent was packed and going crazy before the band even went onstage. there were times during Kids, weekend wars, time to pretend, and electric feel, that the roof was going to be blown off. The place just exploded. moe. was once again great, rocking till sunrise Sunday - was completely dead come sunday morning, so I just chilled at camp until 3 - chilled at main stage for erykah badu. I was unimpressed. she came on 30 mins late, and just had her backing band loop the same song for the first 10 minutes of her set, and spent half the show talking - Snoop Dogg was fun and pretty entertaining. but, say 'fuck' and responding to 'whats my name?' every couple minutes kinda got old - a 2nd night of phish was a perfect way to close the fest. definitely a more 'typical' setlist, but not a bit less amazing. opening with NICU and the first PYITE of the tour was awesome. fuck the haters. if Trey wants to take advantage of the situation and play with Bruce, his childhood hero, he has every fucking right to (and i thought it was great). closing with tweezer reprise absolutely brought the place down, as would be expected
