Just racked a slightly over hoped red ale to a secondary. Doing another blueberry pale ale batch as it was amazing. Then I'll be attempting my first lager.

I just picked up cases of the Lagunitas Little Somthing Somthing Ale and Sierra Nevada's Kellerweis Heffeweizen. Amazing thing about Lagunita's is that
its a hopped wheat. Fantastic flavor.

Lagunitas is apparently making a double of the something something ale. Can't wait for that. I had my first run in with a firken a couple weeks ago. Craft
Ale House had a firken of Lancaster Brewing Hop Hog. That was damn good.

Lagunitas is slowly creeping up my list of favorite breweries (as far as easy to find, decent price stuff to drink a few of), though I finally opened my
"We're Only in it for the Money" (Zappa-dedicated Tripel) and struggled to get through the whole thing.

Lagunitas has been very hit or miss for me. Early on in my craft brew days I had a few of their beers I didn't really care for and have strayed away since.
Maybe I'll give them another chance.

Scheduled for the weekend of August 20th to 24th. We do need to hook up for a beer, but Friday night and Sunday night are the only ones free. Family wedding on
saturday. Hopefully going to the Sox game on the 20th (I even believe its Elvis night, so my beard might turn into Elvis chops at that time), so after that the
wifey and I can probably get dropped off by my parents (yes I said my parents) or take the red line up and meet you in wrigleyville if you are up for it.
I'll even bring 1776 if you still want to read it.

Yeah, that'd be great. I'll be in town that weekend too. I'll see you and the wife then. And if you remember, bring the book too. Thanks.

Baseman38 wrote:like I said, its good if you are in the mood for a particular style and nothing fancy. generally on tap now at most of the non "beer-bars" i go to, so its a good alternative to the usual Boston Lager, SNPA, etc choices. their Red Ales (both basic and imperial) though are quite good |

someoneintheroad wrote:I bought a bottle of that Zappa beer, and thought it was fucking terrible. Poured probably 1/4 of the bottle into the sink. Honestly didn't care for the Lil' Sumpin' Sumpin'. Thought the Brooklyn Hopfen-Weisen was outstanding, though. I'm in Ohio for a few days, so I picked up some beers I can't get in Florida: -Troeg's Nugget Nectar and Hopback Amber -Founder's Double Trouble -Bear Republic's Hop Rod Rye Ale and Racer 5 |
