who really cares if they go mainstream or not? they
are bound to grow in popularity given they are talented
and write quality songs. as long as they continue to
create sincere music they will always have me as a fan.
sure, as their fanbase grows it will get continuously
harder to get front row for their shows, which is my
favorite place to be in the world...but if they were
still playing places like the orange peel in a couple
years it wouldn't be right

I may be the only one that feels this way, but to
me it doesn't matter who else listens to O.A.R. As long
as they are still making music and are popular enough to
keep going as a band, it shouldn't matter if everyone in
the world had O.A.R. in their c.d. player or if you were
the only one, as long as the band is still going and you
personally could enjoy the music.
The other thing with making it big, not say that this exact senario will happing to O.A.R., but a lot of bands will make there way to a different type of music to satisfy the majority of people out there after they make it big, losing their original fans. If the band makes it big then that is great for them, but i don't see how it makes a direct impact a fan. No matter what happens, best of luck to the band, i hope to be hearing the music for a long time, cause that is what its all about the music. |

oar sucks | #105 |
|

oar is going "mainsteam" more
than likely bc they are a bunch of
"pop" musicians that sound like sissy's
when they play. they pop their collars up and play crap
ass music that is so repetitive it's sickining. Sounds
all the same. maybe if they were cool and had some talent
w/ playing their instuments and jammed out they would not
be so fruity. Anyways this bands appeals to that dudes
grandma! yeah thats cool. I bet oar fans are a majority
of 14 yr old girls and homo guys that know and sing every
single word to every song when they go to a oar concert.
plus the ONLY decent sound in any of their songs is the
sax. Too bad the sax player isn't 1/4 as talented as
LeRoi Moore. If he was the band might be worth 2 craps!
am i right? i think so

Leroi is a terrible horn player. His repertoire
consists of the same poorly composed riffs reused over
and over again. I have never heared a professional horn
player ever talk good about Leroi. All they say is how
bad he stinks and how lucky he was to catch on with
Dave.
Jerry is fundamentally a better sax player and is asked to fill a lot more space than Leroi because Jerry's band is not as good and depends on him to get through some of those seemingly endless jams that OAR embarks upon. |

you must be one stupid idiot that doesn't know good
music when he/she hears it if you think moore sucks! at
least he can play improv and more than 5-6 notes.

I'll say it again, OAR already are a mainstream
band. They are growing as musicians and writing better
songs, hence the shows are getting bigger and bigger and
more elaborate. This is the same conversation with
everyone band...I hope they dont sell out and go
mainstream....yuck. just look at the shows and the seas
of drunken teens screaming for that one song. good for
them, i hope they sell out....every seat, every
night.
Every CD is supposed to be "the next big one," but unfortunetly the O.A.R. crowd is young and that leads to a more technical crowd...hence people ripping their music and not really supporting the band....and not anyone here. |
