i kanda told this story elsewhere but it is worth repeating.
i was at my friend's lakehouse this past weekend and his wife's younger brother (19 yrd old) is a huge o.a.r. fan. as soon as he found out i was a fan of o.a.r.'s he practically combusted trying to ask questions. i was actually very perturbed because i like this kid, he's a good kid and pretty cool for the most part. but he just went total homo talking and asking about the band (i don't really know them personally), asking me who my favorite band member was (i don't have one), my favorite show(s) ever (MSG 1.0, FBTE 03), favorite album (if i had to select, souls aflame, but i wouldn't select an album, i'd select a show), most underrated song (so moved on), etc.
so i'm trying to steer this conversation away from his fanaticism and mention OARSA and he goes, "o-a-r-s-a dot org, yeah i know it - wait, dude... do you know ed paff jr?!" i think he was more impressed by that than any of my o.a.r.-related stories. i also mentioned sarnovsky and got a blank stare so was like, "the guy from the MSG documentary who had been to 100+ shows..." and he goes, "oh yeah - dude, is he a creep? he looked creepy and his pants look really tight."![]()
