Posts: 1219 Aug 16 12 8:57 PM O.A.R.'s BFF	Tags : None So, lot's of differing opinions on here... but, as with all bands, there is something everyone loves about OAR. For one reason or another, we are here and we have, do, and/or will listen to their music. Amidst the 7 studio albums, the 4-6 live albums, there is something for everyone. Better now or better then, whichever you think... what is the one thing OAR has shown, taught, given (etc.) to you? For me, the ONE thing that I have always taken and remembered about OAR is that, concerning the people you care about, if you give love you will ALWAYS get love back. I sincerely hold on true to that. What do you take away from OAR? Do you ever truly feel, That it's a waste of time to live a day? I mean deep inside have you convinced yourself, There's much more to get out of the way? Well for me, it's that last baby moment before I wake, It bless my soul, caress my heart, Leave me wishing for a brighter day.

The good and the bad memories/experiences/people in your life make you as a person. 2) More recently, the lyrics of Heaven have been important to me.."Maybe I should take my time and build this life by my own design..." Live the life you want to the extent you can control it (see part 1 when you have no control, complimentary I guess). Nice post 3Jacks, got me thinking a bit

Not only does this dude just seemingly shake off being hammered in the face with baseball bats, but is also a compulsive gambler that sees devils and carries a fucking 45' magnum wherever he goes. OAR has taught me to evade this manimal at all costs.

A ton of my favorite musicians or bands are more talented than OAR(although OAR has really grown talent wise since back in the day), but the music they make and the message they send is great. Plus OAR is more of a rock band than DMB, who is all in all, more of a jazz band. Which does makes sense because everyone in jazz is extremely talented. But I like that rock sound a little more. Must be the lead guitarist.

The Wanderer and Soul's Aflame are recorded in a way that some call classic and some call ridiculous. 4 of my top 5 OAR songs come from these two albums (COD, Get Away, Untitled, So Moved On) but the live performances are SO much better to me. My biggest complaints... 1) The Architect... how did that not make King? or All Sides if my chronology is correct. That would so easily be on this list. 2) Crowded Mind... I thought this song was awesome but in the SOAS making video, Marc said no. We chose Daylight the Dog instead? Huh?? 3) What Are the Odds?... record it dammit. You guys could make so many people happy 4) The fact that Woke Up An Uncle was the choice of "New Song" on the live release when the aforementioned three are readily available. O.A.R. has brought me great happiness and I respect them more than anything, but personally, if I could make even one person smile with a recorded song, I would do it, and those three should definitely be recorded.
