It's a pretty loose topic but its enjoyable to write about. The only problem is that the sources I have found on this are kind of hit or miss. I appreciate any input on the subject that anyone might have. Thanks.

I'm writing a college research paper on the effects of the Counterculture of the 1960's on society today. The main areas that I am covering are civil
rights, civil liberties, drugs (culture, usage, laws), music, sex (feminist movement goes along with this one). I've been asking friends for input so I
thought I would ask here because there are always plenty of opinions to go around. I'm not in a jam or anything, I have a pretty good grasp on the paper
so far and have about another week to finish it. I'm just interested in hearing what you all think are the biggest effects, most interesting points I could
make, etc...

haha thanks. wikipedia actually does help for getting an idea for the outline of the paper, however paraphrasing it alone wont give me a 10pg paper that needs
to have internal citations and will be checked on turnitin.com. I'm a senior and have a pretty good idea on how to write this. I'm just interested in
hearing opinions on different aspects of the subject. Maybe its too early in day for this. Check back and contribute when you guys get home from work and can
inhale some inspiration

yea Nam will definitely be going in the civil liberties section in regards to protesting and free speech, I may be able to use it in a couple other places
also. Every topic that I cover has to someway connect to its effect on society today. My first draft focused too much on just explaining what happened instead
of making the connections to the present and analyzing the effect. This connection part does allow for an ample amount of bullshitting but I would like to
infuse a solid number of facts and opinions supported by facts

The main areas that I am covering are civil rights, civil liberties, drugs (culture, usage, laws), music, sex (feminist movement goes along with this one). if those are the main areas, what are you leaving out? seems like you are going a little too broad for a paper that's only supposed to be 10 pages. i'd narrow it down to only three topics - civil rights, vietnam and the feminist movement would probably be the easiest to compare to and find the impact on today. |

I actually had to do a similar paper last year. My main focus was drug culture but here was one of the books we read: 1968: The Year That Rocked The
World. I don't expect that you'd read the whole thing but if you skimmed through it you might find something worth using. We had to read the
whole thing and personally, I thought it was quite dull.

Why would you want to write about the feminist movement?
...if you feel it, why don't you sing along... |
