I would go.
But not fesable man. There is no demand for it. Mayer's demand is high enough were he can pull this off. And plus I would rather hit up a Mayercraft with O.A.R. aboard. - Jack well just sit back jack and relax and enjoy a smile...

Any band that can sell out MSG can get a following for a cruise. No doubt about it.

Ya, as sweet as it would be I don't think O.A.R. has the true following to pull it off. Mayer has had a lot of main stream success that has allowed him to
have a pretty consistent following anywhere he goes. O.A.R. would either need another uber popular, mainstream album or continue to grow their fan base and
establish themselves as nationally recognized live performing band, like DMB or Phish.

This "So-Called" Cruise can leave from the Balt or NY area always!
Would be no airfare necessary if coming from the Northeast area. |

People come from all over for the Mayercraft.
Im thinking of hitting up Mayercraft 3. Last time I checked it was about $2000-2500, after everything is said and done. Think about MSG. Sure, majority of the people come from the east coast, but others came from across the U.S. and some from other countries. Im gonna agree with Chris, its just not possible. - Jack well just sit back jack and relax and enjoy a smile...

Eventually they may be able to pull it off, I just don't think they have the fan base that would allow them to sell out a cruise ship with people who are
willing to spend the time/money on them just yet.

oar will never headline a cruise.
joining up with bigger name (Mayercraft) or joining in with a bunch of other artists (Rockboat) are the only ways |

Sure, a lot of people did travel for the RR show... however the venue is under 10k people. Don't get me wrong, that's a lot but the VAST MAJORITY of people at the show were from the Denver metro area. |

o.a.r. tried to do a destination trip back somewhere between 2001 and 2003. it eventually got cancelled due to either lack of interest or an issue with the
booking company. can't remember which. and this was after some people had already booked the trip. they of course refunded everyone and gave them free
tickets and backstage passes or whatever.
i dunno, they might be able to kill a cruise similar to mayercraft but that's certainly no easy feat. i think half of mayercraft is is all the talent he's ripped through in LA. |

red rocks is also near the 24th largest city in the US. your argument is not apples to apples. do some people travel for red rocks? sure...even i have. but its
nowhere near the expense that a cruise is.

^^ hey Mark thanks pointing out the obvious...a cruise would be great, not sure if it could happen just yet, perhaps after another studio album and another big
radio hit...would love to see it happen though, the fanbase outside of this board just isn't there yet i think

as tim said, they tried a cruise before and it failed.
it's not an inexpensive thing... for comparison, the rock boat is about $1000 for the ticket (includes food on board). plus, you need a hotel the night before ($200) and a plane ticket down there ($300). we're talking $1500 before booze is even added ($750 for me on the rock boat last year). i'm sure some fans would sign up, but you definitely wouldn't get the 2000 or so people necessary to sell out a boat. i'd rather see them on the rock boat, mayercraft, or even zac brown's cruise (all are run by the same company, btw) |
