This thread is retarded, of course they want to be popular and have radio play, wtf...they're a band, they're musicians, thats what they want. And if
you know anything about them you know that most of those songs were played years before they got put on all sides. /thread

^ thats a good point. Dinner Last Night is from 2001, SCO is from 2004, Whatever Happened is from 2005, Fallout/On My Way is from 2006, LITE/What is Mine is
from 2007
its not like they wrote all these songs specifically for a mainstream album, obviously a few were, but come on!

the last two posts are very good points.
i don't think this thread necessarily sucks. some of it is good discussion. i mean, this is the board discussion for o.a.r. why not discuss them? i like o.a.r. because they are o.a.r. they're very talented and regardless of the style, they make damn good music. maybe i don't liket the newer studio stuff rather than souls aflame, for example, but it's good music. you can't stop a band from changing. they're going to do what they want to do. and even if you don't like it, try to be fine with it. because honestly, o.a.r. is trying to be fine with you.

WHY THE FUCK ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT THIS!!!!!! Who cares if All Sides has some radio friendly songs. I don't get why people hate that OAR is becoming
more popular. I say good for them! I'm happy they are getting some mainstream attention. They work so damn hard it's about time they get some
recognition. I've made this point before, if they made every studio album sound like Risen or In Between Now and Then people would be bitching that all
their music sounds EXACTLY the same. Trust me, we don't want OAR to turn into ACDC where every damn song is exactly the same as the one before it.

GetAway39 wrote: on that note, i have a similar inquiry. and i'm a new dmb fan so i'm not sure of their fan base history. after all sides, it seemed that a lot of o.a.r. fans, especially on this board, were a little upset with the studio sound, as well as the live sound to an extent. dmb has been popular for a long long time with an "alike" musical style as o.a.r. as far as i know, dmb hasn't drastically changed their style to the extent of o.a.r. or have they? i'm in the dark, since i'm not a longtime dave fan as i am o.a.r. but as far as i know they've strongly kept their fan base throughout the years. i know the comparisons between dmb and o.a.r. have been long overanalyzed, but i'm just curious. thanks.

I think they did a hell of a job making an album that gives them a lot of success and money (who doesn't want that...) while not selling out and still
haveing some songs for their roots. I mean they still play all their good songs at concerts and such so why are you complaining...or even caring?

Jammin420 wrote: Are you serious?? You expect bands to sell out their old style to become popular and increase radio play?? Wow, maybe it's just me, but I don't expect that out of my favorite band. And yes, I loved those songs live, but I think when they were put on All Sides they were there in a more mainstream form (IMO), there's hardly any Jerry on the entire album, and there is a ton of Jerry in those songs when they were played live. Some of you are really stupid. And no, I don't flip flop on OAR all the time, I think they're an amazing live band, but they have tried desperately hard to become mainstream with their last two albums. That's my stand on them. Puckman751 wrote: -Randall Boin
