So I used to be on this site pretty often, but I have been away I guess you could say. Anyways, good to be back and really liking the debate so far over Chicago being the next live CD. I forgot what my old username was since it has been over a year since I've posted so I created a new one, oh well stuff happens right..........


Although the only UNRELEASED song they played was RYOS and Tonight, they did play many songs that are not on a live CD so far (if I am wrong on one or two, sue me) From what I gather these are the ones not recorded for a live CD: Revisited, This Town, What is Mine, Whatever Happened, Shattered, Dinner Last Night, Tonight, On My Way, War Song, RYOS and Fool in the Rain. Not to mention the acoustic version of Poker and the newer percussion solo and slowed second half of Lay Down. Also they added a new intro to About Mr. Brown, and turned an old classic (The Wanderer) into an acoustic song. Plus they have two versions of Shattered, both acoustic and electrified.

ALSO, the whole USB wristband thing and neither of the shows is up on LIVEOAR.com yet, if they can get you a copy of the show minutes after it ends they should have them up online by now. Adding to that, there were 4 additional mics on the stage pointed out toward the General Addmission audience and 2 mics by the sound booth that were pointed toward the stage. Also, there were a bunch of cameras around and lastly..............a "NO AUDIO" sign was on the front gate. Pretty good signs that they were at LEAST recording. They may take this show and one or two others and debate which they should use for a live recording.

I went to both shows and I have to say they were both great. Night one brought along the new backdrops that were just absolutely insane (if people were under the influence of certain substances they were probably enjoying it even more), the stop in the show for the acoustic set was awesome and the actual setlist was pretty darn good. The crowd was a bit more laid back on Night one, it was a Thursday so not as many people were there, and I saw 0 fights. And the cover Fool in the Rain was awesome, once I heard Robert Randolph was playing I knew they were going to play it. And speaking of Robert Randolph, he rocked the house. He got the crowd going for a great night

Night two was a little different. There were a lot of drunk teenage girls who were annoying as all hell. Someone mentioned being hit and pinched and having them scream in their ears...I know the feeling, we must have been around the same group because I was ready to go off on someone. As for the show, I thought it was CRAZY! The rain really cooled off a brutally hot and humid Chicago day and I think it got the crowd even more into the show. A few times Marc would walk out to see if it was raining, and once, it was, so they decided to play Delicate Few and got everyone to sing in the rain (before he started, he sang "Singing in the rain"). The set list was absolutely incredible, classic OAR basically all night. I was very disappointed with The Wailers though. They didn't stick around for a few extra hours to come out on stage and jam on one song? Granted, I am sure they were excited to get the day off and hit the road a few hours earlier. Very sad there was no Junior Marvin on Stir it Up, Lively Up Yourself or No Woman, No Cry. Very glad I stuck out the storms and saw the show.
