But seriously, I have heard Dispatch is similar... I'm not too big of a fan but just search around. |

If anyone says Guster so help me God... hahaha.. Thats all I ever heard.. "O.A.R.? Yeah they are sort of like Guster.." and I dislike Guster and
disagree.. but usually even to this day places like Rhapsody and whatnot have "Similar Artists - ... Guster" haha

i honestly think there is no where near a direct comparison to OAR out there.
I mean, each time I see O.A.R. Chris always has a look of disbelief on his face like he's saying "How did we get here?" and I think thats incredible that he is still humble.

efeene wrote:As a fan of Guster (whom saw them last night @ UDayton) I will agree I don't think they are all that similar. O.A.R. has progressed more towards the mainstream sound while Guster sounds similar to what they did in the early 90's (for the most part). That isn't a knock at ore for what they are now, I'm just making a point. Guster is of it's own breed. I'm a fan of both bands but that's just me. |

check out State Radio...part of dispatch members started that band when they split up. a lot like dispatch but a lil more rock. They play at IU for free in two
weeks if anyone is interested.

^ State Radio lacks a sax, which is a huge part of O.A.R.
State Radio's songs are also very political... again, something very different from O.A.R. (with a few exceptions of course). |

All in all, the most similar band to O.A.R. is obviously Exposed Youth.

I really like Domestic Problems. They don't play together much anymore, but you can check out their old stuff. Listen to the song James Francis here.

By far I would have to sayDipstach or any one of the members new bands (State Radio, Braddigan and Pete Francis). But once again OAR IS UNIQUE!!!! Every song
and album has something diffrent that you can not compare to. Some songs maybe sound like Dipstach, one song possibly Pete Francis and a few DMB...but no
matter how you slice it...all in all OAR as a group can't be compared to one band....certain songs yes....but as a full band, impossible

to do... and he set his feet onto the road that would be his home for a long, long time. He hoped to find people like him on his journey. He knew he'd meet
many, but wondered how many would actually join him." - Marc Roberge

Yea i'd say Dispatch is prob the closest especially when Craig Dreyer is playing the sax in some of their songs like "Ride A Tear" "Here We
Go"....also state radio can sound like o.a.r. when they have jackson playin the sax
