i seem to recall a news story about 5 years ago how red ants have infected the coachella valley. like they put them there to fix some issue, but then it got
out of hand and now it's a pain in the ass.
that or phish is going to cover the first alien ant farm album for halloween. |

kinda up in the air at this point.... i'm about 50/50 on catching the last 5-6 shows of the summer tour. if that happens, probably wont make the festival
how much would a ticket go for? $200-$250?

if i had a choice, I would go to the phest before the last 5 or 6 shows of tour. This is going to be epic. I want to go, but no way I will be able to make it.

One of the most exciting things about the idea of a three-day Phish festival this fall is the fact that one of the dates of that weekend is Halloween. All Hallow's Eve is a special date for Phish and their fans, as the band traditionally covers a full classic album - which they call a "musical costume" - in concert on that night. In 1994, Phish began the tradition of playing three-set shows on Halloween night, with the second set devoted entirely to a classic album. The first attempt was the Beatles' "White Album," which won a fan voting poll. Subsequent years saw the band tackle the Who's Quadrophenia, Talking Heads' Remain in Light and the Velvet Underground's Loaded. Phish are not the sort of band to buck tradition, so it should be assumed that they'll be playing through a classic this Halloween. But what record should they tackle? Here are a few suggestions. Led Zeppelin, IV
Michael Jackson, Thriller
Pavement, Slanted and Enchanted
Steely Dan, Countdown to Ecstasy
Justin Timberlake,
Justified
Bruce Springsteen, Born to Run
Guns N' Roses, Use Your Illusion I & II
Rolling Stones, Beggars Banquet
Slayer, Reign in Blood

Dude, Phish has jams that are longer then the Reign in Blood record. That would be fun, that's for sure.
I wonder if they will have bands besides Phish at this thing. |

I think I'm going to have to go. It's not too far of a drive from Vegas. Do we know yet if they're going to allow camping for sure?

coachella has had camping the last few years, granted limited. coachella also has 4-5 stages and a dance tent, so who knows how that will work?

When I first saw this I was like I'm def. going but now considering logistics I doubt that I could pull this off. As cwagis said, 400 dollar plane ride
(the best I saw into palm springs) or a days worth of driving one way? Pick your poison. Add that to the fact that this is during the school year and I
don't think I could manage. It's something that I'll keep in mind for the next few months, though.
While Thriller is the obvious choice and I think most appealing/appropriate musical costume, in true Phish style I think they'll do something totally out of left field to surprise everyone. Or maybe I'm thinking too Phish pre-hiatus. |
