NBC News reported that Travis Barker, an ex-drummer with the band who starred in MTV reality show "Meet the Barkers", was among those hurt in the incident. He was transported to the Augusta Georgia Burn Center and was listed in critical condition. Barker had performed Friday night at an event alongside Perry Farrell, the former Jane's Addiction singer, as well as Gavin DeGraw and DJ AM. Plane crash in South Carolina kills four, two music stars are injured September 20, 2008 COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Fallsburg native Gavin DeGraw was not on the airplane that crashed in South Carolina and killed four people Saturday morning, DeGraw's father said. According to several media reports, a Lear 60 jet that took off from South Carolina just after midnight, heading toward Van Nuys California, crashed about 75 miles southwest of Columbia, S.C. The plane was carrying six people. Four, including the crew, were killed. The survivors are former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM, a popular disc jockey whose real name is Adam Goldstein. National media has been reporting that DeGraw might have been on the plane because he performed at a concert Friday night with Barker and DJ AM. When reached by a reporter from the Times Herald-Record Saturday morning, DeGraw's father, Wayne DeGraw, said his son is fine. He's still on the ground in South Carolina, waiting to leave. "You have no idea how many phone calls we've been getting from people out of concern," Wayne DeGraw said.

Posts: 8419 09/20/2008 1:44 PM XOKate	apparently it overran the runway, hit some lights, crashed thru a fence and fell into an embankment where it caught on fire. travis is burned from the waist down and AM's face is badly burned. the two other passengers were travis' assistant (who just got married and had a baby) and his body guard. how sad

Posts: 1084 09/22/2008 11:13 AM	The news reports and eye witness accounts have been saying that Barker and AM jumped out of the plane prior to the plane hitting the embankment. They reported that two people were on fire (Barker/AM) and were trying to put each other out not far from the plane. It is assumed the impact with the embankment is what killed the victims. All that being said, how in the hell does someone will themself to jump out of a moving plane? Some huge coconuts is what allowed those two to survive.
