greg, you still have your old phone, right? you can either a) put SIM back in and store contacts to that, then import b) move them from old phone via computer
cable, then convert into outlook, which itunes can import from or c) type them manually into your computer.

Yeah, I'm back to using my old phone for now. The iphone came with a sim card. When in and plugged in to Itunes, it can't recognize the sim card. I put
in the old sim card, and it works. All the contacts are on the old sim card and not on my old phone, however when that sim card is in the iphone, it still
shows no contacts.
I can't sync it because as some of you know, I haven't been able to walk for the last almost two weeks due to a problem with my spine again. Everything I have as far as outlook contacts is on my computer and laptop, both at work. What I was hoping was that since the contacts are on the sim card, that I would at least be able to have it take those contacts into the iphone until I can get back to work. 1. Why does the new sim card not work at all? It doesn't even get recognized, saying that there is no sim card? 2. My contacts are on the old sim card. DO I need to do something to get the iphone to recognize them once that sim card is in? Thanks, Greg |

damn dude that sucks about your spine, get better fast.
your major problem could be you got a bad sim card. it happens. call up apple on the phone. there support should tell you everythign to do step at a time. greg i think the cell phone gods have limited you to using zack orises phone only:)

Just had a horrible situation with the Iphone. I've been a happy customer and had the phone for over 6 months, but suddenly it stopped working telling
me "Restore Needed". I spent an hour on the phone with a "genius" and he told me that it sounded like it was going to be replaced for
free. I set up a time to go have my phone replaced and when they told me they found the problem I was relieved, turns out I shouldn't have been.

Stupid question, I have a bunch of music in itunes on my computer. How do I just select certain albums to put on my iphone? I don't want to do it by
playlist cause I don't have any set up. Just want to put a few albums on the phone.
Thanks, Greg |

uh, turn off synch settings and set it to manual and then drag certain albums from itunes folder to iphone folder within itunes.

or you can tell itunes to only sync songs that are checked

what kraut said. But I believe if you also have a regular iPod, that iPod will also only sync the songs that are checked. i could be wrong on that though.

checking sucks cause it limits your shuffle use on itunes.

Thanks. One more item. When I tried to get music on there yesterday, I must've done something wrong because now none of my apps work. When I click an app,
it blinks like it is gonna open, and then just goes back to the regular iphone screen with all the apps listed. So basically, they all show up, but none will
open/work.
What the fuck did I do? They all show up under "Applications" in my itunes now as well. So I don't think I lost them, but they won't work. I plugged it in and tried syncing it, but I must be doing it wrong. |

Will a restore cause me to lose my contacts?

you shouldn't. you phone makes a backup every time you sync. so, when you sync after your restore everything should be just like you left it.

Sorry if this has already come up in the thread...
Does anyone else have a problem with music skipping on the new iphone? Songs I bought from itunes (and some I've uploaded from CDs) will skips a second or so like a scratched disc. This doesn't happen when playing the same file on my computer. |
