I accepted a promotion (with Macy's) to Cincy today. I need all the tips I can get, and I know this is a good place to do it since many of you are Ohioans. The biggest tip I need is where to live. I am going to be working downtown so anything within 20 minutes of downtown is preferable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Live in Northern Kentucky. 5-10 min from downtown, 1/3 the price, much nicer. What kind of place are you looking for? Price range, ect.

1BR/1BA apt. $600-$800/mo. Safe, "quiet", close to downtown, young people, etc.

Really nice, but probably a little more pricey. Try NKYrents.com, I believe it actually shows Downtown Cinci as well.

Definately N. KY. It's much nicer and within driving distance. Bellevue, Erlanger, Edgewood, Burlington. Anywhere really.

Not as far as being closer to the city, young people, nightlife, etc.
I would suggest starting closer to the city: downtown, mt adams, hyde park, newport, covington (maintrasse) etc. - and if you dont like that after a year, or you want to be more suburban, then the suggestions above will make a lot more sense in that case. but i wouldnt come into town and seclude yourself out there. if you want to be able to enjoy being in the middle of it all, i would definitely recommend my suggestions to start. |

I wouldn't live in NKY but that is just me. I lived in Mt. Adams and loved it and my place was around the pricing you are looking for. These would be the
areas I would look if I was moving back to Cinci. Downtown, Mt Adams, Hyde Park, Mt Lookout, and Oakley. Good luck! Cinci is actually a great city!

DO steal caviar sushi from a random restaurant after the bars close. i dunno how many times i've been to cincy but it has always failed to disappoint. its a great midwestern city and have always enjoyed it no matter what i was there for. hadgis, ed and liam can provide you much better recommendations but for what you described and from what i know, mt adams is pretty much what you're looking for. were i to move to cincy, that's probably where my apartment seeking would start and stop. my only concern would be that a lot of the places are old buildings with some adequate updating done to them, some more than others. http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/search/apa?query=mt+adams&minAsk=&maxAsk=800&bedrooms=&hasPic=1 |
