turns out the Jackson 5 actually played at my mom's high school, before they had hit it big. i can't lie, i love the Jackson 5. and i think that's
the saddest part. all that talent , only to have to have his family abuse and betray him, for their own self interest, his entire life.
he may not be the last, but he certainly is one of the few artists we can relate to our parents with. each generation experienced an amazing part of his career.

you guys know jackson doesn't have the rights to the beatles music, right? he owned (maybe he sold his interest, not sure) half the publishing on most of their catalog. "rights" is too vague a word in the world of music. the bottom line is that jackson got paid when beatles songs were used: licensing, mechanical, performance. the typical setup in music publishing is for the songwriter to get half and the publishing company to get half. jackson bought the publishing company rights. |

It sucks that MJ died. However, MTV has been playing his videos all night and I couldn't help but think how nice it was to see videos on MTV in stead of
all that shit they have on there. RIP Michael Jackson.

I'm with Dooz and Fury, i really couldnt care less that this clown passed away. and he was a freak. Just watching the shit on the news and they had
different footage from different parts of his life, and it was ridiculous what he turned himself in to. i was never really a fan of his music when i was
younger and when i got older i still didnt like him, but i couldnt get over the fact of what he did to himself and little kids.
it's like Barry Bonds, yeah he tested positive for steroids but everyone knows he did them. Michael Jackson was never convicted of molesting little boys, he just had enough money to keep them quiet, but everyone knows he did it. I dont understand how people can respect this guy after hearing about the shit he did, whether you believe it or not. when i heard he died, literally my first reaction was wondering what happens to the beatles song catalog. edit: my buddy heard on the news that he was working out with Lou Ferrigno. |

i'm 26 and i really dont think anyone my age can really understand what Dylan, or the Stones, or McCartney and the Beatles) were like in their heyday. I
dont listen to Paul McCartney but has his post-beatles career really been that impressive, that "moving/amazing", that people can really understand
his mark on music?
i agree with you when you say my generation saw michael jackson and how he changed music and whatnot, but all of those other people made their marks in the 50's and 60's and 70's... |

Reports of Michael Jackson having a heart
attack are incorrect. He was found in the children's ward having a stroke. Michael Jackson died of shock after finding out Boyz II Men was a band not a delivery service. Jockeys at tomorrow's race meetings will wear black armbands out of respect for Michael Jackson, who successfully rode more three yr olds than anyone in living memory. McDonald's are bringing out the Michael Jackson tribute burger. 50 year old meat between two 7 year old buns. When Farrah Fawcett arrived in Heaven, God was such a big fan he decided to grant her one wish. She asked that all the children in the world could be safe. So God killed Michael Jackson. 50 kids have volunteered to identify the body as they have first-hand experience of seeing Michael Jackson stiff. |

That Farrah Fawcett one was awesome.
And I believe Michael had to sell his interest in The Beatles catalog when he ran into money troubles a few years ago. |
