It has been awhile!! I hope everything is going well with everyone. I am going to Italy in the Fall and i'm looking at getting a new digital camera.
I'm interested in a quick point and shoot and have been looking at:
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Canon PowerShot SD880 Anyone have any suggestions or comments on those 2? Thanks! |

it's so much easier to just google the camera model +review... you have several billion users on the internet vs. just a few hundred ACTIVE members on
here.

Like I said in the other camera thread stay away from the Cybershot. It's a good camera but it uses Sony's memory and its a proprietary pain in the
ass. My mom just got a Olympus and its really nice because the memory card fits right into my built in SD reader. Unlike the Sony memory card where I have to
use this gay ass cord to plug it up or buy a whole other SD converter thingy so it fits into my SD port.

the sony pro duo card should come with the adapter for your reader. mine did.
my next camera won't be a sony though, it's ok for a low range point and shoot but i'm not ecstatic with it. |

Go with the canon. I have always followed the rule of thumb to go with a camera company rather than an all electronics company.
But specifically, you don't need the extra megapixels that come with the sony. 10 is more than adequate for what you need. Also, 4x optical zoom is much more beneficial then the 3x that go with sony. |
