yesterday was nice here..75 and sunny.

Now we've got a wind off the lake and its going to be 45, wet, and sloppy (kind of like Donny's mom 30 years ago) for softball tonight...

I didn't even notice that the link I posted with that comment didn't show up...

Long story short... 13 year old Minnesota with learning disabilities has a cancer that chemo can treat 90% of the time... After 1 round of chemo the kid decides he doesn't want chemo (assuming because of the side effects) and by most accounts doesn't understand that its pretty much chemo or die.

Somehow he and his parents decide they are going to become Native American natural healers through this Nemaheha (sp?) Indian group and that they are going to treat his cancer naturally. They get taken to court to force the kid to get chemo so he'll live, the parents are fighting this...

Yesterday the parents and kid were supposed to show up in court with the latest x-rays showing whether or not his cancer is getting better or worse... Dad shows up, while Mom and son go missing. Dad says he only knew they were leaving...

So now you have a kid who is, likely, to be completely clueless to the actual nature of his illness and parents who are either leading that cluelessness or are similarily clueless themselves (I vote the latter)

Now I'm all for natural healing and what not, but there are some things that, especially when modern medicine is proven effective in treating, should be treated by doctors. If he was 23 he could make up his own mind, but a 13 year old with learning disabilities doesn't have the ability to make these decisions, but his dumbass parents are letting him decide and letting him die.

I won't go so far as to say I hope the kid dies so his parents learn their lesson...but that is what's going to happen.
