Detroit is just too deep. at no point, even in OT, was worried that they wouldn't pull it out.

detroit is loaded. their studs aren't the ones who are even killing us, its their 3rd and 4th line guys. unbelievable. i'm just hoping this series is
not all for naught. the hawks better be using this series in the same way the bulls from 88-90 used those nasty detroit series to propel themselves ahead of
everyone.
so glad i didn't get done with my softball game yesterday and find a slew of text messages from hadgis and didia. hadgis was probably too drunk from hanging out with eminem all night last night to even watch the game. |

Any playoff caliber team is going to finish you if you give them a 3 on 1...Detroit doesn't hold the monopoly on 3 on 1 scoring.

They had a chance to take away the 3-1 away anyway. Instead of laying down in the middle to block it, if the defenseman dives in between he makes the guy with
the puck have no passing lane. If he has to shoot, Khabby only has to defend that side of the net.

yeah, he definitely went down trying to take out the short side shot...almost like he didn't see the third Red Wing coming in on his right...

Regardless if you see him or not, he certainly could see that it was at the very least a 2-1. You dive right for the passing lane. It would've forced the
puck to be shot on net or they would've run out of space.
Either way, you reduce the options and your goaltender has less to guess at. |

Yes Karl...Yes you are...
Okay I went back and youtubed it...I guess 6 beers after playing softball in 35 degree weather will screw up a guys recollection as it happened slightly differently than I recalled. At somepoint, on D, you just have to commit to what you can best commit to and his backward momentum keeps him from really having any chance at blocking out the pass back to the high slot. I just don't see how he could have gotten into that passing lane...and even if he had been able to get into the high slot passing lane, the shooting lane and cross ice pass would have been wide open. So he commits to taking out the shooting lane and one of the potential passes and Detroit's guy was smart enough not to try to force the cross ice with a saucer pass, and opted to drop it back. I just don't see what Barker could have done differently that wouldn't have ended up with us saying "he should have done this" |

step up and go for the closest guy first and just get your stick on it, don't lay out like that, even if the goalie makes the save you have to be on your
feet for the rebound with that 3rd guy coming in the high slot you know

Either way, definitely not Khabby's fault. He kept them in that game when they could've been smoked. Osgood was out of his mind last night. Sometimes
that happens.
It's not over until a team wins on the road. So there is still hope. Detroit is a way better team though. Just would like to see a good hard fought series and not a 4-0 or 4-1 series. |
