volzas....I have the same guitar....You get so much for your money with that thing....Grover Tuners, Solid Top and it sounds great.....Awesome guitar for $250.

I still have my original Ovation, my next guitar will be a Taylor....

I still go by the belief that there are a couple ranges of guitars (beginner, intermediate, professional quality) and that you pick your range, play all the guitars you can, and buy the one that feels the best.

The most important thing to look for is TONE. Secondly I would make sure that you like the TONE of the guitar, and third... well you guessed it. Of course you want to make sure that the playability of the guitar is up to par as well, and it doesn't hurt if it's a good looking instrument. Learn about tone woods and what differences they have. Rosewood yields a deeper tone than that of Mahogany or Maple. Koa is a great medium. In the $1500-2500 price range you could buy just about any...

I've never heard of Larrivee so I decided to look into them. They look gorgeous and the reviews were great... I couldn't find any sound clips or anything though. Does it sound similar to anything or any musicians use it?

I play a Larrivee 03 series, which is a handmade auditrium guitar from a dude in Vancouver. I absolutely love it. The sound is amazing. I also had a Taylor 314ce, and that had impeccable sound as well but my Larrivee sounds much much better. I believe that cost around $12-1300 (the husband paid so I really don't know)
