I still go by the belief that there are a couple ranges of guitars (beginner, intermediate, professional quality) and that you pick your range, play all the
guitars you can, and buy the one that feels the best.

The most important thing to look for is TONE. Secondly I would make sure that you like the TONE of the guitar, and third... well you guessed it. Of course you
want to make sure that the playability of the guitar is up to par as well, and it doesn't hurt if it's a good looking instrument. Learn about tone
woods and what differences they have. Rosewood yields a deeper tone than that of Mahogany or Maple. Koa is a great medium. In the $1500-2500 price range you
could buy just about any...

I play a Larrivee 03 series, which is a handmade auditrium guitar from a dude in Vancouver. I absolutely love it. The sound is amazing. I also had a Taylor
314ce, and that had impeccable sound as well but my Larrivee sounds much much better. I believe that cost around $12-1300 (the husband paid so I really
don't know)
