Usually 2 mics are used. There are some tapers that use more than 2.

I believe there is a low end sony mic that is a single mic. So, you want to make you own digital audience concert recordings. Where to start?!? In order to create a digital audience recording, we require the following:

[1] mics
[2] power to the mics
[3] gain
[4] analog-to-digital converter (ADC)
[5] storage device

Set levels during the opener if possible. You shouldn't have to change levels once you have them set.
