got up early and went to south park, broke a fly rod. my fav. don't think they can repair it.

didn't have any back ups so i drove back over the mountains to fish the snake river behind keystone in colorado. still the coldest water i've ever encountered. could barely hold the camera under water to film the trout

moved over to the mouth of the river where it dumps into dillon lake.

caught a trout with bare hands and none with fly

then i got...

NoPainAnyway: yes, Fox River. we launch from Ottawa...

Flogging Molly show was an absolute blast. We got to go backstage and meet the entire band. I was pretty amped about that. It was random how it happened, too...we met one of the guys (band) in the crowd afterwards and his tour mgr asked just us if we wanted to come to the signing backstage...

USA beat Canada in rugby on the 4th. Thats a pretty big deal. It was also nationally televised live on ESPN. First internation rugby match nationally televised. Pretty sweet.

Had a fun holiday weekend...worked on the 4th, which wasn't too bad as I wasn't busy at all...then had softball games on the 5th (we played our league's version of interleague play, where we play a couple teams from the division above us, and we split the two games, winning one game by run rule) which were followed by the city of Norman's fireworks (which we were right under, because we play softball in the same park as the fireworks show)...then had today off, so we played...

There's a levee behind my mom's house, and we built a huge slip-n-slide down one side of it yesterday. We got a garden hose extension and a really, really long piece of heavy duty plastic. It was a blast. Unfortunately, we realized too late that everyone was landing in a big patch of poison ivy. Oops. None of my pictures really capture the length and steepness of it.

Going canoeing in a few weeks. Usually take the 7 mile trip, tether all our canoes together, and float down the river and drink a million beers and sing like pirates. I bring my lab and she has a blast. Best day of the entire summer...random.

Shot fireworks for an hour at a dresser periodically inflaming it, but it kept going out. Add tons of gasoline and a roaring ignition..15 foot flames+priceless fun for all! I have pics on my phone but dont have that fancy schmancy computer connection with it...you all know what fire looks like..

Tim, on our lake, after the fireworks the boats split the lake and half are port lights and half are starboard lights. it's FTS.

this weekend was below average. rain and clouds and crap fri/sat. today was beautiful but couldn't quite defeat two shitty days of weather.

i wish i either knew how to take fireworks pics or had a good enough camera for them. seeing the fireworks on the lake is pretty awesome. all the boat lights dotting the lake is a scene in itself, it looks like mr miyagi's wife's funeral.

Couldn't have had a better holiday weekend, I don't think. Saw Tiger play, watched the Nats barely lose (9- to the Braves, got a tattoo, watched 2 different sets of fireworks, partied hard, hung out with friends and family... and now it's time to crash. Work tomorrow is going to be fantastic, I'm sure.
