chatter, banter, and all of that background noise bothers me.

see i don't mind it so long as its not overwhelming. but then there are time when its hilarious like when you can hear terry screaming "FAVORITE BOOK OF POETRY!" at the top of his lungs in between every song (ie FBTE 03 - Sarnovsky AUD).

that beer bottle comment is hilarious. there are so many early shows where the mics had to have been placed right above a garbage can or...

i personally don't even think it's debatable whether a good AUD or good SBD is better, particularly since a good SBD generally has a good mix of the audience. the only time i want to hear a SBD is when its marticed in with an AUD pull.

if anything, i guess it might be worth complaining if the recordings being sold aren't good enough quality or something. i don't know if this is the case as i haven't heard any of the shows hosted on liveoar.com. but if that is the...

only the 01-02 SBDs that made it to "Best of" series are any good. Because the sound wasn't that warm back then (the band mixed it pretty dry with little effects) so the SBD recordings are close to what you heard.

Agree with Chris 100%. Soundboard recordings have such an empty quality to them. I don't understand how anybody can like them.

Don't get me wrong, i find this ironic and sorta stupid as well... but didn't we all talk this subject to death already? This along with the "All sides sellout thread" aren't things to discuss anymore.

i hate sbd recordings and will basically only get them if there's no aud available. sbd sounds like it was recorded in an empty room with the band playing to each other.

SBD to me is better.... plus if AUD was really better, wouldn't they sell that version? I mean they record live CD's they are more of SBD's. For the mix they use SBD, for selling shows it is an 80/20 split SBD/AUD at best. Kevin has a dead on point.
