that's kind of a ridiculous statement considering we are talking about seats that aren't even in the ballpark. i'm still waiting to catch a game from greg's patio!

I thought we weren't going to be able to see the field but the view was great, maybe the one next to us (owned by the same company) is a little worse. Its actually the closest one to home plate

Isn't that one where you can barely see the field though? Where the bleachers are pointed diagonally on the roof instead of straight forward? We had a work outing there and sitting on those brand new shiny silver bleachers was like sitting on a mirror. Worst sunburn ever. It hurt my eyes to sit outside, so I stayed inside where I could see the field better (on tv).

We had a 20 person group go the the one on Sheff/Addison (The one in the fartherst corner of right field) for $60 each and we only reserved it two weeks in advance for a Friday game. I have been to three rooftops and this is my favorite, they are the newest buildings and have unreal food/drinks. (They have more draft beers/food options than I thought could be in wrigleyville). Forgot the name of the actualy rooftop but it was a great time, I will be back shortly.

mcrobby, just contact one of the rooftop vendors and buy them direct. most of them sell tickets to individuals so long as their roof isn't rented out for a party that day or something. just google cubs rooftop tickets and you should have no problem. just be sure you check out where the place is located before buying tickets. some of those places are at impossible angles to watch a game. and you're right about a thursday game being better opportunity than a saturday game though.

i saw some on craigslist not long ago for 75 apiece. some guy got ditched when he bought a groups worth.

edit: or go on craigslist the day of the game, get tickets for 20 bucks each and use the extra money to buy all you can eat food.

Here's a question for the Chicago folks:
I'm going to be in town the 27th until the 30th. I'm planning on hitting a Cubs game again. What's the best way to get rooftop tickets? My cousin picked some up two years ago and we had a great time. It cost $100 per person and included all you could eat and drink. My cousin is looking again, but I didn't know if anyone else had any suggestions on the best way to do this. I'm guessing the Thursday game against the Nats...

Well, I wasn't saying live in the loop. Just point out that your options quickly widen with being at the loop campus as all the El lines converge in the loop and thus you could live anyplace in the city and not have real trouble getting to class, maybe one bus and a train ride.

I will be at the Loop campus. I have looked around that area and anything real close is of course very expensive. I'm going up there soon to check it out. I don't mind 400 square feet at all, i don't need much room to sleep and hang around. I have looked around on craigslist, thanks for the recommendation..so i have some ideas to check out when i get there. i just dont want to waste time looking around places that are either way too expensive or in a bad neighborhood.

I had a 700sqft studio in houston and it was small, imo. plus it cost over $1k a month.

A 400 square foot studio is huge. My first one was 320 square feet, and my second one was 375 square feet. It took 5 years before I could afford multiple rooms on my own.

what campus are you going to be at? Because where you want to live entirely depends on what campus you take classes at. I have a friend going up for law school, but that is at the downtown campus.

what neighorhoods would you guys recommend that would be affordable/safe? I have been looking online throughout the day, and found some pretty good looking studios for 650, but they are only 400 sq ft. I talked to the university today and they said I get a metro pass of some sort included with my tuition. Not sure what that consists of. I'm pumped about moving, just wish I had more cash reserves.
