Agree, Overrated.

Depends on how much you like to walk around and drink. I find it hard to carry all the free street porn they hand you. We had to buy extra duffel bags.

My parents go to Vegas 1 to 2 times a year. They only stay at the Wynn. They love it there.
We went to the Buffet there. Much better than the Buffet at the Mirage.

The Wynn's buffet was amazing. I'm generally against buffets, but the Wynn's is an exception...

If you like gambling, then yes. I had a good time in Vegas when I went and barely even gambled. I did the Stratosphere, Fremont, checked out all the different casinos on the strip, went to some clubs, etc. You can't really do that at an Indian casino. There it's pretty much just gambling and booze...

All depends on where... The one I mentioned is in our Downtown area... back in the 80's the town had some economic issues and turned a block of downtown into reservation and took a cut of the indians earnings (which they still bitch about, conveniently forgetting that without the deal they wouldn't be making the millions of 'take home' off of the casino that...

TI has the best buffet, imo. And like I said if you plan on going back to Vegas in the future, The Freemont Street Experience is not neccessarily a must see thing. I think the show is every hour on like the 45 minute mark.

i was counting the times i went... probably around 50 now (went every weekend for 6 months when i was working on pet project out there). i actually had a vegas cell phone number with intentions of moving out there, but we had some ownership fallout issues with the company, so i decided not to risk it.

i didn't do the touristy thing until a couple years back.. before that, was always up in the burbs (summerlin) or at our office off strip.

I love Vegas. I'd never gone until last year, but my girlfriend and I went twice in a 6 month period. Rev hit it on the head. you can do anything and act anyway you want.

The first time we went, we got bumped from our flight and gave us a free roundtrip flight (hence why we came back so soon) plus hotel for the night. They put us up in the Hyatt kiddie-corner from the Hard Rock. It was a nice place...geared toward business travelers so its no frills, but the place is brand new...

I've never been and really want to go to check it out.

problem is, i'm cheap and don't want to gamble a ton. I guess if I left my spare cash with someone and just took out a hundo, I'd be ok. I don't know how i'd be in there (xojewkatexo or Clark Griswold)

We have an indian casino 5 blocks down the street from my office here...even has a full bar.

I'm sure I'll end up going at some point, but the most I care to do in the tourist area's would be betting on hockey in a sportsbook while boozing for free and golfing.

Depends on which side you're on. I've been in Vegas for 3 years and still haven't bought anything. I think the market is going to continue to drop for another 6 months to a year.

Vegas is a ton of fun. I think there are several aspects of it that can be overrated, but if you like to gamble and don't feel like flying out of the US, the Las Vegas Strip is the best place to go.

And I would love to live there. My friend and I were contemplating doing that. Housing market is excellent from what I've heard.

i live in vegas fyi. just got back from an ice bar in mandalay called Minus Five. its this really cool bar they keep at -5 celsius, they give you big jacket and mittens. the bar is made out of ice, the walls, tables, chairs, glasses, everything is all made out of ice. so much fun. i definitely recommend checking it out.

I am taking the lady friend to San Diego in late March, and on the way back, we are landing at noon in Vegas and leaving the next day at 2 pm or so. Neither of us have ever been, so I would like to stay on the strip for the night and take in as much as we can...

where do you recommend that we stay for that one night? Im not looking to spend a couple hundred bucks...id like to keep it reasonable. also, are there any good discount hotel websites that you use? I have looked at...
