i agree, it was just frustrating being next to kids who when asked had no idea o.a.r. stood for anything at all and that just pushed and were annoying as hell

^agreed. i am never doing pit/floor again at an oar concert. even in the four years i've been seeing them i have seen a huge decrease in average age at shows and i just can't take the younger kids in the pit.

Worst show I've ever been to was in Columbus this year...
The songs they played, i thought they played amazing.. but it wasn't that great of a set... Especially being in the CBus I just expected a lot more...
And on top of that.. the crowd was the worst i've ever seen it... As of that day, i think i'm done with the pit... for good.

I liked the new album as music, not necessarily my favorite style of o.a.r., however i really enjoyed the CD. I like the mix of new and old throughout the set.

while All sides didn't blow my mind, it has been growing on me ever since i bought it

however, after seeing the band this summer, I have to say their live show hasn't changed a bit. of all the songs they played off All sides, they were able to play them all completely up to the standard of their live shows

Have to say, as well, that I did not like this album much at all, but have found myself listening to it more and more after seeing War Song and On My Way live. Although this new album is different, it's grown on me, and think that they are doing new things to old songs, which I expect they'll do with some of the work on All Sides.

i don't really like where they have headed. i haven't seen them since last april and i probably won't unless they come very very close to me.

i dunno why. i just sorta grew out of the music. i don't think they have necessarily gotten worse live, i just don't like the new material that much and to an extent i don't think they are nearly as in touch with their fans as they once were. (not that they can help it, record labels are a bitch)

i think there doing awesome, look how much Lay down has changed! And there being more creative, with triangle solos and the new poker intro is sick, and poker is starting to hop around and pop up in different areas in the set as well, which leaves room for more options in the show..

If they were gettin worse (if that is even possible) as time goes, do you think they would be touring still?

Listen to some of the old tapes (2001-2003) and then listen to a show that is recent.

They have became wonderful musicians. The sound is just tighter, everything just flows better.

One great example is Marc's voice. Look how much it as matured.

After the new album released there was a lot of lashback about how O.A.R. has distanced themselves from the band they used to be and changed their sound. Now all of that was mostly surrounding their album which was studio. What about live? Do you guys think they have gotten worse live....better? I read somewhere in an article this summer that rewarded the band as having "the best live song being toured right now" referring to poker. Maybe they changed a little bit on All...
